Judge Lambert tells 92.7 WAVE News that she will run for a seat on the Kentucky Supreme Court. Lambert currently is a judge on the Kentucky Court of Appeals, representing the 3rd Appellate District, Division 1. She was elected to the court in November 2014 for an eight-year term commencing on January 5, 2015, and expiring on January 1, 2023.
Lambert is married to former Kentucky Supreme Court Chief Justice Joseph Lambert, who retired from the supreme court in 2008. Judge James Lambert of the Kentucky Court of Appeals is brother to former Chief Justice Joseph Lambert. Consequently, Judge James Lambert and Judge Debra Lambert are brother- and sister-in-law.
