Two Russell Springs men were arrested on drug related charges Tuesday night.
Around 9:45 p.m. Deputy Ethan Pike stopped a car on Weston Road for an equipment violation. While approaching the vehicle, Deputy Pike observed the driver making movements that caused the Deputy to believe the driver was attempting to conceal something.
Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Bobby M. Beard, 46, of Russell Springs. Beard was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth), Tampering with Physical Evidence and having an Obstructed Windshield. Approximately six grams of Methamphetamine and $1,886 cash was seized as evidence.
Additionally, Michael A. Johnson, 35, of Russell Springs, was arrested on two warrants for failure to appear in court after Deputies observed Johnson in a vehicle near the initial traffic stop. Johnson was also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia.
Deputy Evan Burton, Deputy Dustin Bunch and Sgt. Mark Cromwell assisted with the investigation and subsequent arrests.
