The man accused of killing a pastor's widow in a Pulaski County church was in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
Police say Dwight Bell went to the Denham Street Baptist Church last month where he killed 70 year old Carolyn New. A detective testified Wednesday that Bell was there asking for food because he was homeless. Testimony revealed New died from a laceration to the neck. Somerset police say Bell confessed to the murder. The judge sent the case to the grand jury which meets in early October. Bell remains in the Pulaski County Jail.
