Two persons were flown to the U.K. Medical Center following a single vehicle, rollover wreck just after noon Thursday.
Lt. David Cain’s investigation determined that Christian Spiller, 21, of Russell Springs, lost control of his 2000 Honda car while southbound on KY 379 just south of the Russell Springs City Limits, resulting in the vehicle leaving the roadway, striking a culvert and overturning twice, ejecting Spiller. Despite being injured, Spiller attempted to flee the scene on foot but was quickly apprehended. A passenger, Kimberly Erb, 19, of Lexington, was also injured. Spiller & Erb were transported by ambulance to the Russell County Hospital and then airlifted to the U.K. Medical Center for treatment of various injuries.
Lt. Cain’s investigation is ongoing. Charges are forthcoming.
