A Science Hill man was arrested after fleeing from deputies who were answering a domestic disturbance call.
Just before 5pm Monday, Pulaski Co. Deputy Tim Pierce responded to a 911 call on Depot Street. Upon arrival at the residence, a man fled the scene in an SUV. A 20 minute pursuit ensued, ending in a field near Beech Grove Road. The subject then fled on foot and swam across the back waters of Fishing Creek.
Several officers joined the search that eventually ended under the Fishing Creek Bridge with the arrest of 26 year old Matthew Girdler.
He’s charged with: Assault-4th Degree (Domestic Violence) Minor Injury, Fleeing/Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), & Wanton Endangerment-1st Degree.
Pulaski County Constables, EMS, Rescue Squad, KSP, and Somerset Police assisted.
