2 PEOPLE ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES IN RUSSELL COUNTY

An investigation by Deputy Ethan Pike resulted in the arrest of two persons Tuesday night for trafficking in Methamphetamine and other charges.

At 8:35 p.m., Deputy Pike stopped a vehicle on KY 619, moments after it left the Cumberland Lodge Motel in Russell Springs. 45-year-old Roger Dale Pendleton of Russell Springs, KY was arrested on a warrant for Failure to Appear in Clark District Court and for Operating on a Suspended License. An alert by K-9 Maxo led to the discovery of a small quantity of Methamphetamine and Marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

A passenger, 38-year-old Wendy Dawn McFerron of Stanford, KY was also taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

The roadside investigation led to Deputy Pike to obtain a Search Warrant for a room at the motel where Pendleton and McFerron had just been. That search resulted in the seizure of approximately 5 grams of “crystal meth” and more drug paraphernalia.

In addition to the initial charges stemming from the vehicle stop, Pendleton and McFerron were also charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Meth.

Both were processed and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.

Deputy Pike was assisted by Deputy Dustin Bunch, Det. Joey Hoover and Officer Bobby Pritchard of the Russell Springs Police Department.
