According to Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck, deputies responded to a 911 call of an injury accident one half mile out Ringgold Road at approximately10:12 AM on Thursday morning, October 12, 2017.
Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Steven Alexander found a single victim of the one vehicle accident lying in the roadway.
Preliminary investigation by Deputy Alexander found that the driver, Brooklyn Ross, age 19 of Whitley City, Kentucky was northbound on Ringgold Road when she left the roadway for unknown reasons and crashed into a ditch. She was apparently ejected from the vehicle when it left the roadway.
Ms. Ross was treated at the scene by Pulaski EMS and transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital where she was "hot loaded" on an Air Methods air ambulance and flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
Units were assisted at the scene by Trooper Corey Jones of the Kentucky State Police and Somerset Fire Department.
The accident remains under investigation by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.
