An investigation by Sgt. Mark Cromwell and Det. Joey Hoover has led to the arrest of a Russell Springs man on Rape and Sodomy charges.
Billy Joe Bennett, 40, of McQueary Road, was arrested at the Russell County Sheriff’s Department just before noon Thursday and charged with Rape 1st Degree and Sodomy 1st Degree after admitting he had sexual intercourse with a female under 12 years of age.
The investigation is ongoing. Additional charges are forthcoming.
Bennett was processed and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
