Two people were flown to U of L Hospital Friday afternoon after a traffic crash on highway 210 in Taylor County.
According to the Taylor County Sheriff's Department both Shannon Sharp and Jennifer Pierce were traveling west on 210. Sharp was driving a 2003 chevy car and was following the 2007 chevy van driven by Pierce. As the Pierce vehicle was slowing to make a left turn, Sharp attempted to pass the Pierce van and the vehicles collided. The Chevy car driven by Sharp overturned.
The rear passenger in Sharp's vehicle, Sharon Sharp, was extricated by mechanical means. She and a male juvenile passenger were flown to U of L. Jennifer Pierce and a passenger, along with Shannon Sharp were transported to Taylor Regional Hospital.
No further information was available regarding injuries at the time of the press release. Officer Branden Wilson investigated and was assisted on the scene by Taylor County Fire and E.M.S.
