A bomb threat was made this afternoon (Wednesday) against the Russell County Courthouse in Jamestown, KY. Since officials were not sure if the threat was against the Courthouse or the Judicial Center, both buildings were evacuated. According to H.M. Bottom, the threat was made at approx.12:30pmCT and employees in both buildings were sent home for the remainder of the day. The Square in Jamestown was closed until approx. 3:00pmCT with traffic rerouted. Several first responders and 2 KSP bomb sniffing dogs searched the buildings and nothing was found. Several agencies responded including the Jamestown Police Dept., Russell Co. Sheriff's Office & Kentucky State Police. The investigation is continuing.
