A vehicle-stop just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday resulted in the arrest of a Russell Springs man on drug charges.
R.C. Deputy Evan Burton stopped a 2000 Dodge Neon on Maple Street in Russell Springs, operated by 44-year-old John Robert Dearing. K-9 Matt alerted to the odor of illegal drugs coming from the vehicle. A search resulted in the discovery of approximately 15 grams of “crystal meth”, some marijuana, drug paraphernalia and some pills.
Dearing was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Meth, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana & Drug Paraphernalia and lodged in the Russell Co. Jail.
Deputy Burton & K-9 Matt were assisted by RSPD Officer Matt Parrish.
