The Columbia Police Department was dispatched to a 2-vehicle injury collision on KY 55 north Thursday night at approx 7:45pm.
The collision occurred when 36-year-old Adrian Stotts and his wife 34-year-old Ashley Stotts of Columbia, KY were operating a 2013 Toyota Scion and had stopped in the left lane of traffic, which is also used as a passing lane, awaiting to make a left turn into a local business parking lot. While awaiting traffic, the Stotts vehicle was struck in the rear by 24-year-old Dakota Bigerstaff who was operating a 2015 Dodge Rogue.
Adrian and his wife Ashley were transported to TJ Health Columbia by Adair County EMS. Adrian was then transferred by Air Evac life flight to the University of Louisville Med Center. As of this release on 11-5-17, he is still listed in serious condition. His wife Ashley was treated and released. Bigerstaff was not injured in the collision.
The collision is being investigated by CPD Ofc Josh Brockman.
