Columbia Police arrested an Adair Co. man on theft charges while assisting with a Taylor County Sheriffs Dept. investigation.
On Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2017 Columbia Police Officer Charles Greer received a call from Detective Benningfield with the Taylor County Sheriffs Department. Benningfield advised that he was investigating the theft of an enclosed trailer took from Taylor County and he received a tip that the trailer was possibly at a location on Short Street. Ofc. Greer and Ofc. Jordan Dean responded to the area and located the trailer that was believed to be stolen. Positive ID was then made by Detective Benningfield and the trailer was confiscated to be returned to the owner.
CPD Ofc. Charles Greer arrested 26 year old Josh Sexton of Columbia, KY on charges of Receiving Stolen Property over $500 but less than $10,000. Sexton was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail and will face additional charges pertaining to the theft in Taylor County.
