A one vehicle accident Friday morning sent two Russell County High School students to the Russell County Hospital Emergency Room.
The wreck occurred at 7:15 a.m. on KY 379, about 5 miles south of Russell Springs, when Dontay Taylor, 18, of Jamestown, lost control of the 2009 Nissan he was operating northbound on KY 379, resulting in the vehicle crossing the southbound lane, leaving the roadway, striking a culvert, becoming airborne and crossing the Blair Road intersection, then striking an embankment before coming to rest on its side.
Taylor was transported by Russell County EMS to the Russell County Hospital while a passenger, Ceavan Josiah “CJ” Vonfumetti, 15, also of Jamestown, was taken by private vehicle to the Russell County Hospital.
Both were later released after treatment and observation.
