According to Sheriff Greg Speck, a two vehicle accident Monday morning, December 18, 2017 sent one victim to the hospital.
At approximately 8:04 AM deputies were dispatched to a 911 call of a two vehicle accident ten miles from Somerset on Highway 39. Upon arrival at the scene, Captain Troy McLin found a single victim suffering from injuries sustained in the accident.
Preliminary investigation by Captain McLin found that Chinna L. Brummett, age 56 of Broadhead, Kentucky was southbound on Highway 39 in a 1998 Mercedes Benz automobile when she apparently lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle then slid into the oncoming traffic after rotating 180 degrees striking a northbound vehicle head on with the rear of her vehicle. Robert A. Luber, age 65 of Somerset, Kentucky was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Pickup truck northbound on Highway 39 when the accident occurred.
Mr. Luber was treated at the scene by personnel from the Pulaski County EMS and was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Slick road conditions may have been a contributing factor in the cause of the accident.
The accident remains under investigation by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's units were assisted at the scene by volunteers of the Woodstock Fire Department.
