Sheriff Greg Speck reports that a traffic stop for a moving violation led to the arrest of three individuals on the evening of December 23, 2017 on various drug related offenses.

At approximately 9:40 pm on Saturday night, Deputy Ricky Shirley of the Sheriff's Office observed a 2012 Honda Civic erratically driving on Highway 1247 near Burnside, Kentucky.  Deputy Shirley conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the vehicle operator, Daniel Brosnan, age 29 of Somerset, Kentucky.  After a short interview of the driver, Deputy Shirley called for a canine to conduct a "walk around" of the vehicle to detect the possible presence of illegal drugs.  A positive indicator by the canine led to the discovery of 2 syringes, and trace amounts of methamphetamine.  A check with the Pulaski 911 Dispatch also found that Mr. Brosnan was operating his vehicle on suspended licenses.

Mr. Brosnan was arrested and transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center.  During the booking process at the jail, the detention center body scanner discovered a hidden amount of methamphetamine in a baggie on his person leading to additional charges.  Daniel Brosnan was charged with:

1.  Operating a Motor Vehicle Under Influence Alcohol/Drugs, 2nd

2.  Driving DUI Suspended Licenses-1st Offense

3.  Careless Driving

4.  Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess

5.  Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Off (Methamphetamine)

6.  Promoting Contraban-1st Degree

A passenger in the Honda, Alice Haste, age 26 of Forrest Circle, Bronston, Kentucky was also arrested after a syringe was located on her person.  She was charged with:

1.  Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)

2.  Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess

An investigation by deputies subsequent to the traffic stop and arrests of the above subjects led to the execution of a Search Warrant at a residence on Cumberland Drive in Bronston, Kentucky.  Deputy Shirley found Calvin Flynn, age 58 of Bronston at the residence where he was arrested on an outstanding Warrant for Failure to Appear to answer charges of Fleeing and Evading Police, 2nd Degree (On Foot).  While making the arrest, Deputy Shirley located a homemade drug pipe and 2 baggies containing a crystalline substance identified as methamphetamine while searching the suspect.  Mr. Flynn was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention on the following charges:

1.  Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)

2.  Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess

3.  Failure to Appear (District Court Warrant).

Deputies were assisted by the Burnside Police Department and the Kentucky State Police.
