A one vehicle accident Sunday evening on Hales Highway slightly injured an Adair County woman and her four-year-old child.

Deputy Nathan Ginn’s investigation determined Jessica Melson lost control of her 2010 Ford Fusion while southbound on KY 379 resulting in the vehicle leaving the roadway and striking an embankment.

Melson and her child were initially checked at the scene by Russell County EMS personnel and then were taken by relatives to the Russell County Hospital for treatment and observation.

That wreck occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. just south of Blair Schoolhouse Road.
