The Casey County Fiscal Court met in regular session Monday.
Under General Business, two checks were approved, totalling $880 to C&F Auto Repair for repairs made to County Road Department vehicles. The County Cooperative Extension Budget was also approved, at just over $200,000 dollars.
In Road Business, Judge Executive, Randy Dial, took time to thank a group of citizens for their road clean-up.
The Fiscal Court then went into executive session for about twenty minutes with no action taken.
The Court voted to hire Derek Sallee to the Road Department.
Under E-911 Business, Judge Dial asked for permission to aquire property to build a new communications tower.
A group from Duo County Telecom addressed the Court concerning a proposed Franchise Agreement in connection with the KY Wired Project. Judge Dial, and County Attorney, Tommy Weddle, told the Magistrates the most recent version of the propsal looked good.
The prosal is for a 20 year agreement with Dou County Telecom with a renewal option after 10 years. Judge Dial went on to propose the Court accept the agreement.
The first reading of the Franchise Agreement was approved by unanimous vote.
A first reading of the Budget will be presented at the next Fiscal Court meeting, scheduled for May 21st.
