MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR FALLEN KSP TROOPER JOHNNY EDRINGTON MAY 16

Columbia, Ky. (May 14, 2018) – A memorial service for Fallen Trooper Johnny Edrington will be held on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 at 1:00 PM EST at the Brookside Cemetery. Brookside Cemetery is located on West Main Street in Campbellsville, Ky.

Tpr. Edrington was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Ky 80, seven miles west of London in Laurel county on December 20, 1988. His murder has never been solved and remains under investigation. Edrington's body was discovered lying in a ditch on an isolated stretch of road approx. 7 miles west of London on Ky. 1956 near the Laurel-Pulaski County line just after 2 a.m. He had a single gunshot wound to the head - inflicted by his own service weapon. According to the report, Edrington's vehicle was pulled off the side of the roadway with the emergency lights flashing. The investigation indicated Edrington was conducting a traffic stop and was shot as he approached another vehicle.

Trooper Edrington, a Campbellsville native, was 34 years old at the time of his death and was a 3-year veteran of the Kentucky State Police, assigned to the London Post 11. He & his wife Dianna had been married just over 6 months and were expecting their first child at the time of his death.

Anyone with information on the case of KSP Trooper Johnny Edrington is urged to contact the London Post at (606) 878-6622.
