TAYLOR CO. SHERIFF'S DEPUTY & R.S. MAN INVOLVED IN 2-VEHICLE ACCIDENT

On Friday, May 18, 2018 at 5:12pmET, Taylor Co. Sheriff's Deputy Mark Dickens was responding to a fatal accident on Ebenezer Road. While heading south on Hwy 55, he encountered standing water in the roadway and his vehicle began to hydroplane. Dickens crossed the center line, leaving the roadway on the north bound shoulder. Another vehicle, a 1998 GMC being operated by Richard Hayes of Russell Spring, KY was heading north and left the roadway to the right. Both vehicles collided in the grass to the right of the northbound shoulder.

Due to it being a county-owned car, Taylor Co. Sheriff Allen Newton requested KSP work the collision. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were towed due to being disabled. Hayes was cited for Expired License.
