Sheriff Greg Speck advises that a Crab Orchard, Kentucky woman faces several charges after being arrested at approximately 10:52 PM Thursday night June 14, 2018.
Deputy Ryan Jones made contact with a female victim at Hardees's Restaurant in Science Hill who advised that she had been forced to drive there at gun point. According to the victim, Heather Michelle Owens, age 37 of Crab Orchard had entered the victim's automobile near a residence on Cave Hill Road and forced her to drive to Science Hill. The victim was able to convince the suspect that the vehicle had run out of gasoline at Hardees in Science Hill.
Believing the automobile was out of gas, the suspect exited the vehicle. She was detained in the parking lot by a civilian who was also threatened by the suspect.
Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Ryan Jones detained and interviewed Heather M. Owens. A handgun that was allegedly obtained from the residence on Cave Hill Road was located in Ms. Owens personal belongings.
Heather M. Owens was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center. While being processed at the jail, a baggie containing a white crystalline substance was found in the suspect's shoe.
Owens was charged with the following: 1. Unlawful Imprisionment-1st Degree. 2. Terroristic Threatening, 3rd Degree. 3. Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol). 4. Promoting Contraband-1st Degree.
The investigation is ongoing by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office with the possibility of additional charges being filed later.
