A Russell Springs man wanted on a recent grand jury indictment and a warrant in connection with a meth trafficking charge was apprehended late Saturday night after fleeing from a vehicle being stopped by sheriff’s deputies.
At approximately 11:00 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Mark Cromwell and Det. Joey Hoover initiated a traffic stop on a Chrysler van for a traffic violation on U.S. 127. After pulling off the main roadway into the parking lot of the Sunoco, the passenger jumped out of the vehicle and fled into a wooded area behind the convenient store. He was apprehended a few minutes later after exiting the woods and attempting to flee again near the Cumberland Animal Hospital.
Kirk Logan Caudill, 21, was arrested on a Russell Circuit Court Indictment Warrant charging him with Tampering with a Monitoring Device and Escape. Caudill was also charged with Fleeing or Evading Police on Foot, a Class “D” Felony.
Caudill was processed and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
