TWO PEOPLE ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES IN PULASKI COUNTY

According to Sheriff Greg Speck, two individuals were arrested on drug related charges after a search warrant was executed at a residence in Pulaski County Tuesday night, July 10, 2018.

Tuesday afternoon, Deputy Marcus Harrison received information from Constable Mike Wallace and Constable Gary Baldock about the whereabouts of a subject wanted on Pulaski County Circuit Court Indictments.  Deputy Harrison located the suspect vehicle leaving the Bend of the Lakes area of Pulaski County and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle.

Deputy Harrison approached the vehicle and located James Bradley Townsend, age 49 of Stevens Drive, Somerset, Kentucky, operating the vehicle.  Townsend was taken into custody. Upon searching the vehicle, officers located a large sum of cash. Deputy Harrison was assisted on the traffic stop and vehicle search by both Constable Wallace and Constable Baldock.

Upon further investigation, deputies gained enough information to apply for a search warrant for the Townsend residence on Stevens Drive.  Law Enforcement Officers converged on the residence and executed the search warrant. Several subjects were located inside of the residence.

During the course of the residential search, officers using the Sheriff's Office K-9 located approximately 46 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, and baggies.

One of the individuals in the residence, Felicia Dawn Young, age 31 of Highway 200, Monticello, Kentucky, was being sought on Wayne County Circuit Court Warrants and a Kentucky Parole Board Warrant.  While being placed under arrest, a search of Young also uncovered a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine in the pocket of her pants.

James B. Townsend was charged with:  1. Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine).  2. Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 2nd or Greater Offense (>or = 2 grams Methamphetamine).  3. Persistent Felony Offender. (Number 2 and number 3 resulted from a Pulaski Circuit Court Indictment Warrant).

Felicia Dawn Young, (AKA Felicia Hicks) was charged with:  1. Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine).  2. Contempt of Court Libel/Slander Resistance to Order (3Counts). (All three counts resulted from Wayne Circuit Court Bench Warrants.)  3. Parole Violation (Warrant)

Both subjects were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center without incident.  Additional Charges are expected.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the search warrant by the Lake Cumberland Area Drug Task Force, Burnside Police Department, Constable Mike Wallace, and Constable Gary Baldock.
