BUSY WEEKEND FOR ADAIR SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT: DRUG ARRESTS AND WRECKS

 
Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss reports that on Saturday, July,14,2018 at approximately 11:39pm Adair County Deputy Josh Durbin conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle that was observed leaving a construction site on South Highway 55. After a roadside investigation, Deputy Durbin placed a passenger in the vehicle 26-year-old Iesha Jones of Columbia under arrest for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver, 35-year-old Nicholas Murry was cited and released for driving on suspended license and rear license not illuminated. Deputy Durbin was assisted on the scene by Officer Jamie Cole and Officer Drew Conn with Columbia Police.
 

Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss reports that on Sunday, July, 15, 2018 at approximately 3:49am Adair County Deputy Josh Durbin was dispatched to respond to a report of a suspicious male knocking on a door at a residence on Liberty Road. Deputy Durbin located 35 -year-old Byron Marcum who was arrested and charged with public intoxication controlled substance (Excludes Alcohol) and possession of methamphetamine. Marcum was also arrested for three warrants out of Russell County.

 

Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss reports that on Sunday, July, 15, 2018 at approximately 4:08pm Adair County Deputy Derek Padgett responded to a single vehicle injury accident on Oak Grove Road. Deputy Padgett's preliminary investigation determined that 37-year-old Laramy J Conover was driving on Oak Grove when he lost control of his vehicle, left the road and stuck a tree head-on. Conover was transported by Adair County EMS to TJ Heath in Columbia where he was treated and released. He was then arrested by Deputy Joey Keith and charged with Driving Under the influence, Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure of owner to maintain required insurance 1st offense. No/Expired registration plates. Deputies Keith and Padgett were assisted on the scene by Adair County EMS.
 
Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss reports Sunday, July 15, 2018 at approximately 4:20pm Adair County Deputy Joey Keith responded to a two vehicle injury accident on Burkesville Road. Deputy Keith's preliminary investigation determined that 57-year-old Norman Warren of Magnolia was operating a 2005 Chevy driving North on Burkesville Road when he crossed the yellow line and struck the side of a 1995 Ford being driven by 53-year-old Dan Lawhorn of Breeding.  Norman Warren was transported by Adair County EMS to TJ Heath in Columbia where he was treated and released. He was then arrested by Deputy Keith for Driving Under the influence and possession of drug Paraphernalia. Deputy Keith was assisted on the scene by the Breeding Fire Dept, Adair County EMS, And SGT Jamie Richards with the Kentucky State Police.
