FRANKFORT, KY. (Mon 16 Jul 2018) - Attorney General Andy Beshear and his Office of Special Prosecutions announced on Monday that a Clinton County man has been sentenced to serve 5 years for wanton endangerment, criminal mischief and terroristic threatening.
Daniel R. Guffey, 53, of Albany, pleaded guilty June 18 in Clinton Circuit Court to one count each of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief and first-degree terroristic threatening.
On July 12, Guffey was sentenced to 5 years in prison and must also pay $1,000 in restitution.
The Clinton County Sheriff's Office investigated the case, and Beshear's Office of Special Prosecutions is handling the prosecution.
According to court records, on or about November 7, 2017, Guffey kicked in the door to the residence of his estranged wife and discharged a firearm damaging her stove, while she and her minor son was present. Guffey also threatened to shoot his estranged wife.
