The Campbellsville Police Department received a complaint at approximately 8:27pmET that an unknown male, who was later determined to be Joseph Kameron Hughes, had approached an elderly lady in the area of Beechwood Drive as she was pulling into her driveway and demanded her to give him her vehicle, but she refused and pulled away. Hughes then fled and attempted to gain entry to a neighboring residence by breaking a glass door and also attempted to get into a vehicle in the driveway. He then continued fleeing on foot toward Gardenia Drive where he kicked in a door to a residence on Gardenia Drive and entered the residence. While inside the residence, he demanded an elderly male to give him keys to his vehicle and when the elderly male refused to give him the keys, Hughes then punched and pushed the elderly gentleman to the floor.  Hughes then destroyed property inside the residence then fled the residence. He then fled to the area of T-Mart on North Central Avenue where he attempted to take a vehicle from a lady in the area of T-Mart and Dale Street.  While attempting to take the vehicle, Hughes struck a 14 year old juvenile female in the head with his fist.  At this point, officers with the Campbellsville Police Department and Taylor County Sheriff’s Office made contact with Hughes.  Hughes then continued to flee on foot and fought officers. After a struggle with officers, Hughes was finally taken into custody and lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center.
