PULASKI COUNTY DRUG ARRESTS 8-6-18

 

4 Somerset, KY men were arrested in the early morning hours of Friday, August 3, 2018 following a joint investigation by Sheriff's Deputies and two Pulaski County Constables.

 

Approximately 2:30 AM Friday morning, Deputy Marcus Harrison was conducting a traffic stop of a vehicle in the Bend of the Lake Shores area of Pulaski County. He was assisted at the scene by Constables Mike Wallace and Gary Baldock.

 

During the course of the traffic stop, the officers observed a vehicle turn around in the roadway and retreat from the area at a high rate of speed. Deputy Harrison and Constables Wallace and Baldock attempted to overtake the vehicle. While doing so, the observed several individuals standing in a nearby yard. Those individuals began to flee on foot at the sight of the passing police vehicles.

 

Constable Wallace and Constable Baldock made contact with four individuals after observing one of them hide a shotgun in the bushes as well as a small baggie containing a white crystalline substance. Deputy Harrison located a fanny pack containing drug paraphernalia and a baggie containing 17 grams of methamphetamine as he approached the men being detained by the Constables.

 

After questioning the four individuals, Deputy Harrison obtained a search warrant for the residence of Jerry L. Townsend, age 44 and Rodney H. Davis, age 44 on Stevens Drive in Somerset. The search of the premises netted the discovery of several firearms (some without visible serial numbers), scales, bag of marijuana, baggie of heroin (suspected), baggie of methamphetamine and a baggie containing 9 unidentified pills. Approximately $800 cash was also recovered.

 

All 4 men were arrested and charged with the following:
 

Rodney H. Davis, age 44 of Stevens Dr. Somerset, Kentucky

1.  Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (> or =2gms.  Methamphetamine).

 

Jerry L. Townsend, age 44 of Stevens Drive, Somerset, Kentucky

1. Possession of Defaced Firearm

2. Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon

3. Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon

4. Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st. Degree, 1st Offense (> or = 10 D.U. Drug Unspecified

5. Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense, (> or =2 gms. Methamphetamine)

6. Persistent Felony Offender I

 

Robin M. Brumley, age 39 of Sierra Drive, Somerset, Kentucky

1. Trafficking in Marijuana (less than 8 oz.) 1st Offense

2. Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (< 10 D.U. Drug Unspecified Schedule 1 and 2).

3. Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol).

4. Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense, (> or = 2 gms. Methamphetamine).

 

Oscar L. Harless, age 50 of Suncrest Drive, Somerset, Kentucky

1. Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (> or = 2 gms.  Methamphetamine).

2. Public Intoxication-Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol).

 

All 4 individuals were lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center without further incident.

 

The investigation continues by Deputy Harrison and the Narcotics Division of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.
