Congressman James Comer was in Liberty yesterday for a Town Hall meeting at the Judicial Center.
The Congressman started off the meeting with comments on getting the Farm Bill passed. Comer is on the Agriculture Committee, and Farm Bill Conference Committee. Current bill expires Sept. 30th.
Comer addressed the issue of health care, saying it was the biggest problem our country is facing. He said the biggest failure of Congress last year was not fixing the health care issue.
Congressman Comer also addressed foreign trade and it’s impact here in Casey County. He says if President Trump hasn’t negotiated a deal by Spring, there may be Congressional action. Comer says the return of manufacturing jobs with benefits is crucial to the future of rural America.
Comer represents Casey and 34 other counties in Central and Western Kentucky. His office is located in Tompkinsville.
