Sheriff Greg Speck reports that a Science Hill man was arrested at 12:35 AM Wednesday morning, August 8, 2018 after an investigation by Sheriff's Deputies involving various sexual offenses involving minors.
Waynard Ray Hughes, age 69 of West Coleman Road, Science Hill, Kentucky was arrested by Sergeant Richard Smith after answering a 911 call of possible abuse of children at his residence on West Coleman Road.
Interviews of two female juveniles, ages 11 and 13 were conducted at the residence by Sergeant Smith and Department of Social Services personnel.
Waynard Hughes was arrested and transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center and charged with the following: 1. Rape, 1st Degree. 2. Sodomy, 1st Degree (6 counts). 3. Unlawful Transaction with a Minor, 1st Degree-Illegal Sex Act, Under 16 Years of Age (2 counts).
The investigation continues by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division. Constable Gary Baldock assisted Deputies at the scene during the investigation.
