The donations we received today (Monday, August 13th) have put the icing on the cake! We have the money needed to purchase the Paz Holley family a home plus we are receiving even more donations. Praise God! There is a brighter future for this family because of the love and generosity of so many! The partners with Joy Ministries extends a heartfelt and sincere thank you to anyone who has donated to this project. We had 44 churches, several businesses and many, many individuals share the vision to help this family. We especially thank Joy Ministries for being the host non-profit agency, Bull Run Music Festival for starting the donations, Daryl and Connie Kemp and the Adair County Retired Teachers for hosting successful luncheons, and the ACHS students and staff for their awesome contributions! Stacy Hatcher has been the great motivator in recruiting donations to finish up the project fund raising phase. Thanks to the local radio stations for supporting the project by broadcasting public service announcements, the local newspapers for publishing information and Columbia Magazine which has been instrumental in promoting the project by donating free advertising.
The public campaign began March 12th and finished up 155 days later. God gave us the keys to unlock several doors. The project is anointed by God! Aside from Lindsey Wilson College, we believe this project has been the largest one time fund raising event ever attempted in Adair County.
Now as we turn our attention to property acquisition, we thank Adanta for working with us in selling the property for a very fair price, Mike McKinney Land Surveying Company for donated survey work and Mike Harris for donated attorney services. Any extra funds we receive will be used for repairs of the house and also be held in escrow for taxes or insurance. We will be receiving needed supplies and appliances in the days ahead as we make preparation for occupancy. We plan to offer an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony just before the family moves in.
