A 1-vehicle accident in Adair Co. over the weekend results in the driver being cited for DUI and other charges.
On Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 2:10pmCT, Deputy Josh Durbin responded to a single vehicle injury accident approx. 5 miles east of Columbia on Liberty Road (Hwy 206). The preliminary investigation by Deputy Durbin determined that 22 year old Shelbie Thompson of Casey County was driving south bound on Liberty Road when she stated she fell asleep and drove off the left side of the roadway, overturning in a ditch.
Thompson was transported by private means to TJ Health Columbia for treatment of injuries. Deputy Durbin cited Thompson to appear in court for DUI, No Insurance and Failure to Notify Dept. of Transportation of Address Change.
Deputy Durbin was assisted on the scene by Sheriff Moss and Adair County EMS.
