28-year-old Mark Higgason and 27-year-old Kera Elrod of Tennessee were arrested Wednesday morning, September 12, 2018 after an Adair County Deputy spotted a vehicle on Burkesville Road matching the description of an auto that had fled from Wal-Mart in Columbia after stealing several items. A traffic stop was conducted and several stolen items were found in the vehicle.

Higgason was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking under $500.00 and Operating a Motor Vehicle Under The Influence of Alcohol/Drugs. Passenger Kara Elrod was arrested on charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking under $500.00, Possession of Marijuana, and on two outstanding Barren County warrants.

Both were lodged in the Adair County Jail.
