** Update on Russell County Round-Up with Five More Charged **
On Monday, September 24, 2018, at 8:00 a.m. members of the Russell County Sheriff’s Department, Russell Springs Police Department, Jamestown Police Department, Kentucky State Police and KY Dept. of Fish & Wildlife began locating and apprehending individuals on Russell District Court arrest warrants for illegal drug trafficking. This comes after a three-month investigation conducted by members of the Russell County Sheriff’s Department. In all, thirty-one persons are being charged with more than 50 felony offenses as a result of this investigation. Of that number, 14 suspects were taken into custody by 2:00 p.m. Monday. Their names and charges are listed in the initial announcement on this page.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the following persons were charged and are incarcerated:
Hope Nicole Dempsey, 33, of Liberty -- Complicity to Traffic in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (over 2 grams meth)
Dana M. Kinnett, 42, of Jamestown -- Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (meth)
Cody Morrison, 22, of Columbia -- Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (over 2 grams meth) and Trafficking in Controlled Substance Within 1,000 feet of a School
Ronald Sharp, 42, of Russell Springs -- Complicity to Traffic in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (over 2 grams meth)
Michael Dean Blakey, 53, of Jamestown -- Complicity to Traffic in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (meth)
All cases will be presented to the Russell County Grand Jury during their October and November sessions.
