At last night's regular meeting of the Liberty City Council, Mayor Steven Brown asked for a motion to enter some equipment into an upcoming surplus sale...
That motion was passed by the council.
Councilman Andie Lawhorn addressed the council with a lengthy statement concerning a recent article in the Casey News concerning tourism funds from the city's restaurant tax. Lawhorn stressed that he opposed the tax and voted against it, and went as far as to suggest abolishing the tax altogether. Mayor Brown asked the council if anyone would like to request a copy of the Tourism's accounting records for review. No motion was made and the meeting was adjourned.
The next regular meeting of the Liberty City Council is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 12th.
