The Lincoln County Sheriff says a traffic stop ended with two arrests and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs and cash.
A car was stopped Sunday morning at about 9:30am on Main Street in Crab Orchard for traffic violations. During the stop, law enforcement determined the two people in the car, 36-year-old Gary Wayne Caldwell and 45-year-old Melanie Ray both had outstanding warrants. The Sheriff says a large amount of money was found in the vehicle, along with nearly 300 grams of methamphetamine, a bag containing Clonazepam pills, and about 6 grams of suspected marijuana. A set of digital scales with white residue was also reportedly found.
Caldwell is charged with two counts of trafficking, several moving violations, and flagrant non-support.
Melanie Ray is charged on two contempt of court warrants. They were taken to the Lincoln County Jail.
