On Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 Officer Kevin Atwood and Officer Charles Greer (who are assigned as School Resource Officers) initiated a drug investigation on the Adair County School Campus. Officers had received information from students that another student had been seen in possession of drugs. After an investigation, they were able to locate the student who was enrolled at Adair County Middle School. Officers located a small amount of marijuana on the juvenile. Further investigation led them to obtain a search warrant for a residence approx. 9 miles east of Columbia on KY 206. Officers executed the search warrant, with assistance from CPD Ofc John Dial and his K-9 Gunner, locating a large amount of marijuana in plastic bags with digital scales.
Arrested was 36 year old Tisha Cook of Columbia, KY. She was charged with Trafficking in Marijuana over 8 ounces and Wanton Endangerment, 2 counts. Cook was lodged in Adair County Regional Jail.
Officers Atwood and Greer are continuing the investigation and were assisted by Ofc. Dial and K-9 Gunner.
