CHILD DIES FROM INJURIES SUSTAINED IN T.C. ACCIDENT

Hunter Hedgespeth, the 3-year-old son of David & Sarah Hedgespeth of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5th at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Taylor Co. last Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018. The accident was a chain reaction type accident that involved 4 vehicles and occurred on Hwy 55 (New Columbia Road) in Campbellsville, KY. The same accident claimed the life of 31-year-old Steven Kyle Taylor of Burkesville, KY, who was a passenger in a taxi at the time of the crash.

According to the Campbellsville Police Dept., the accident occurred at 3:27pmET when a 2017 GMC Yukon, operated by 50-year-old Kathy Begley of Campbellsville, KY was stopped on KY 55 waiting to make a left hand turn into Swan's Landing. A 2003 Dodge dually pickup, operated by 29-year-old John Yoder of Columbia, KY was pulling a gooseneck trailer loaded with logs and failed to see several vehicles stopped in front of him waiting for Begley to turn. Yoder struck a 2007 Chevrolet Impala in the rear operated by 48-year-old David Coop of Albany, KY which caused a chain reaction collision. The Coop vehicle (which was a taxi owned by Smith's Taxi LLC of Albany) then struck a 2003 Honda Element operated by 30-year-old Sarah Hedgespeth of Greensburg, causing the Hedgespeth vehicle to strike Begley's vehicle which was stopped waiting to turn. Coop's vehicle (a taxi) had several passengers, 55-year-old Rosa Muse, 61-year-old Earl Muse, and 31-year-old Steven Taylor all of Burkesville, KY.

All parties involved in the collision (except Yoder) were transported to Taylor Regional Hospital. Steven Taylor of Burkesville was pronounced dead at Taylor Regional Hospital.

Funeral arrangements for 3-year-old Hunter Hedgespeth are incomplete and will be announced later by Foster Toler Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.
