Sheriff Greg Speck reports that a Bronston, Kentucky man was shot while allegedly burglarizing an outbuilding in the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 8, 2019.

Deputies were dispatched to a building near a residence on Rocky Point Road at approximately 4:50 AM Friday morning where they found a male suspect suffering a gunshot wound to the head. According to the landowner, he discovered the suspect, William Thomas Auxier, age 39 of Highway 790 in Bronston, burglarizing an outbuilding on the property. A physical altercation between the two men led to the suspect being shot. EMS personnel treated Mr. Auxier at the scene and transported him to the Bronston Fire Department where he was airlifted to U.K. Medical Center by Air Methods.

No charges have been filed as the investigation continues by Detective Todd Wilson of the Criminal Investigation Division of the PCSO. William Thomas Auxier remains in the U.K. Medical Center at the time of the Press Release.
