On Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 1:25pmCT, Adair Co. Chief Deputy Justin Cross was dispatched by Adair County 911 to KY 80 east near the Russell/Adair line for a reported auto collision with injuries.
Preliminary investigation shows that Sierra Miller was operating a 2008 Chevrolet east bound on KY 80 when she crossed the center line, striking a 2012 Lincoln head-on operated by Mary Kearney of Russell Springs, KY who was traveling west. Miller’s vehicle then traveled down an embankment, overturning and striking a building before coming to rest.
Miller (who was unrestrained) was ejected from her vehicle and had to be airlifted by helicopter to the University of Ky. Hospital. Her female infant passenger was restrained and was transported to Russell County Hospital and is in stable condition. Kearney, who was restrained, was taken by private vehicle to Russell County Hospital.
The collision was investigated by Chief Deputy Justin Cross. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Adair County EMS, Russell County EMS and members of the Columbia-Adair Co. Fire Department.
