The Adair County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported physical altercation with shots being fired in the Sparksville community of Adair County yesterday.
On Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 1:08pmCT, Adair County 911 received information of two males fighting and that shots had been fired on Maxie Lane. Upon Sheriff Brockman’s arrival, both parties were located in the vicinity and a shotgun that was used was secured. After investigating, it was found that an employee of Taylor County RECC (John Edwards) was at the residence of Patrick Stotts completing a work-order, when Stotts came out and fired a shot in the air from a shotgun. An additional shot was fired in the direction of Edwards. Stotts then went toward Mr. Edwards and struck him with the barrel of the gun; a physical altercation then ensued.
Patrick Stotts was arrested by Sheriff Brockman and lodged in the Adair County Jail on charges of Wanton Endangerment, 1st degree; Menacing, and Assault.
Assisting at the scene was Chief Deputy Cross and KSP Trooper Martin Wesley.
