Pulaski County Sheriff Greg Speck reports that on March 22, 2019 at approximately 8:30 AM a woman was injured in a collision with another motor vehicle at the intersection of KY 90 and Jacksboro Road.
Deputy David Wesley responded to the scene where he found one victim, Barbara Sawyer, 62, of Somerset, KY suffering from injuries she sustained in the accident. Deputy Wesley’s investigation of the accident found that Ms. Sawyer was westbound on KY 90 when another vehicle, driven by Larry Cook, 67, of Bronston, KY pulled from Jacksboro Road into her path and they collided.
Deputy Wesley’s investigation revealed that Mr. Cook had pulled to the intersection of Jacksboro Road and KY 90. He failed to see Ms. Sawyer’s vehicle and pulled onto the roadway in front of her. Mr. Cook was not injured but Ms. Sawyer was treated by Somerset/Pulaski County EMS and later transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Deputy Wesley was assisted at the scene by the Somerset/Pulaski County EMS and Bronston Volunteer Fire Department.
