On Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 2019 Columbia Police Dept. Officers initiated a traffic stop on Greensburg Street and Jones Street. As the Officer approached the vehicle, he observed the driver attempting to conceal a clear plastic baggie with a white substance inside. The individual was immediately taken into custody. After the K-9 unit was utilized, CPD Officers also located marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
David Rooksberry, 39, of Campbellsville, KY was charged with a total of 6 traffic violations as well as Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine). A passenger, 38-year-old Lucas Brinkman, was also taken into custody with 2 active warrants, including probation violation.
Officer Evan Burton made the arrests. He was assisted on scene by Deputy Josh Durbin and Officers Kevin Atwood & Adam Cravens.
