The “Be The Change” movement continues to grow in Columbia. According to a news release from Columbia City Hall, there will be a day of service to others on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
“We realize that people want to be involved in our community and help others,” said Mayor Pamela Hoots. “We will be working with area church volunteers to have a day of service.”
The day will be designated to help the elderly, families, disabled, and others in our community who have no support network. People will be doing small projects for others. Churches will be referring people in their congregations and/or neighborhoods who need assistance. Volunteers will meet at the City Park and disburse from that location to do projects for a period of 3 hours. The day will conclude with a picnic lunch. If you and/or your church would like to participate, please contact Ann Marie Austin at Columbia City Hall at 270-384-2501.
