On Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at approximately 7:48pmCT, Trooper Levi Scott was patrolling on the Cumberland Parkway in the limits of Columbia, when he initiated a traffic stop on a 1995 Ford Ranger for a traffic violation. Consent to search the vehicle was given resulting in a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and a set of digital scales being located.
The operator, 21-year-old Donovan Morton of Columbia, KY was arrested and charged with Improper Equipment, No Operator-Moped License, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree 1st offense (more than 2 grams of methamphetamine.) Morton was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
