The City of Columbia, in conjunction with local churches and organizations, will be sponsoring a "Day of Caring" this Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019 in Columbia and Adair County.
Projects are to be completed for the elderly, disabled, and community on that day. This past week, Don Neat and Dwan Hadley have been delivering wood to residents in the county that burn wood for heat in the winter.
Bobby Morrison and the Band of Brothers from the Columbia Christian Church will be working with an activity at the Rosenwald School near Santa Fe Church.
The Columbia Baptist Church will be overseeing a project at Signature Healthcare at Summit Manor. Projects include: cleaning gutters, tree trimming, cleaning windows, and other smaller household chores throughout the day.
If you or your church would like to participate, please contact Columbia City Hall at 270-384-2501.
“We hope that this will become a biannual event for our town,” said Mayor Pamela Hoots, “The support of the community has been amazing.”
