The Columbia Police Department investigated a 2-vehicle collision with injuries on Sunday night, September 12, 2021 just after 7:30 PM on Jamestown Street.
The collision occurred when a white GMC Terrain, operated by Phyllis Smith, crossed the center line in a slight curve and struck an oncoming vehicle that was being operated by Melinda Stapleton.
Stapleton was transported by ambulance to TJ Health Columbia for possible injuries. Three passengers, including two juveniles, were also taken to TJ Health for precautionary reasons. Smith denied EMS treatment but was later taken to TJ Health by private vehicle.
