On Friday, July 29, 2022 at 8:39pmCT, K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten and Chief Deputy Brandon Hitch were dispatched to Lampton Lane to investigate a suspicious male in the area. The suspect was located and identified as Joshua Arnold, 40, of Columbia.
After a roadside investigation it was determined that Arnold was under the influence and was advised to place his hands behind his back. At that point Arnold pulled away and attempted to elude arrest and a struggle ensued. Arnold was taken into custody without injury.
Upon his arrest, suspected fentanyl was located along with marijuana. He was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on the following charges:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (Fentanyl)
- Possession of Marijuana
- Public Intoxication (excludes alcohol) &
- Resisting Arrest
K-9 Deputy Chandler Staten was the arresting officer.
