The male subject originally came under investigation in March of 2022 when an Adair County School Resource Officer was notified of a 17-year-old female student engaging in a relationship with the 25-year-old male.
After the party became aware of the investigation, he left Adair County. The Grundy County Tennessee Sheriff’s Department located the subject, identified as 26-year-old Jonathan Berryman, while they were investigating an unrelated matter.
Berryman has been charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possessing Matter of a Sexual Performance by a minor (over 12 & under 18 years of age), Procure or Promote Use of a Minor by Electronic Means, and Use of a Minor in a Sexual Performance (all felony offenses).
Berryman will be extradited back to Adair County at a later date. He is also facing additional charges in Tennessee.
