William E. “Pete” Perkins, age 81 of Campbellsville, KY was born in Green County on February 27, 1936 to the late James E. and Alma (Coakley) Perkins. He departed this life on Friday, February 9, 2018 at the Taylor Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Perkins had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church. He was a retired insurance agent and husband of Mrs. Mildred Perkins, who survives. As a young man of honor, he served his country with dignity in the United States Army. Mr. Perkins enjoyed athletic activities; he often relaxed by playing a round of golf or watching the University of Kentucky Wildcats. He loved introducing kids to sports and was an umpire and coach for many years in the American Legion Youth Baseball league.

One son: Jim Perkins and wife Valerie of Greensburg
Two step-daughters: Gayle Newton and husband Rick of Campbellsville, and Patricia Boone and husband Alex of Lexington
Three sisters: Elizabeth Leftwich of Greensburg, Sue Penick of Campbellsville, and Sarah Hodges of Greensburg
Five grandchildren: Ed Perkins and wife Sarah, Patrick Newton and wife Stephanie, Andrew Newton and fiancé Cassie Perkins, Ali Boone, and Catie Boone

Mr. Perkins had chosen cremation, and those honors were entrusted to the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville.
A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM EST (10:00 AM CST) at the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3878 Greensburg Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Rob Hughes and Bro. Dale Curry will be officiating. Interment will immediately follow.
