Clayton Smith, 88 of Edinburgh, Indiana died Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Greenwood Healthcare Center in Greenwood, Indiana. He was born October 12, 1933 Jamestown, Tennessee, the son of the late Sam and Myrtie (Beaty) Smith.
Clayton served in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post 233 in Edinburgh. He retired from Polyloom Chemical Company. Clayton was an avid gardener, liked Bluegrass music, tinkering with cars, and was proud of being a veteran.
He married Doris Jean (Sneed) Smith on November 30, 1996 and she preceded him in death on January 1, 2022.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Smith; and 12 siblings: Delphia Daniels, Hewey and Otis Smith, Delia Layne, Rosie Beaty, Clovis Smith, Velma Knotts, Stella, Clive, Josephine, Cluey, Calvin Smith.

7 children: Mike Smith of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Scott Smith of Dayton, Tennessee; Carolyn Burton of Atlanta, Georgia; Elizabeth (Mike) Harmon and David Eugene Burton of Edinburgh, Indiana; Amanda (Jim) Gaskins of Nashville, Indiana; and Victoria (Terry) Hebert of Indianapolis, Indiana
15 grandchildren: Emily, Chadwick, Shannon, Josh, Tessa, Kyle, Melissa, Scott, Sarah, Derek, Brock, Tyler, Chris, River, and Alisa

Funeral Service: Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 10:00amET at the Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana with Reverend Randy Denton officiating
Visitation: Wednesday, March 9th from 5:00pm-8:00pmET and on Thursday after 9:00amET at the church
Burial: Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh
